Please know that not one person has all the answers to what COVID-19 may bring us, but we will work together and make the best of circumstances we may face. I always tell the students not to panic because we can always fix a mistake or a misunderstanding. Us teachers are in this for all the students and we need the parents help and understanding in these unknowing times. Please, if you have a concern or need, just contact the teacher. VIP______ You will need to sign up for this Social Studies blog. Im sending home a paper with directions. This blog will be where students and parents keep up with weekly, bi-weekly and daily assignments, due dates, up coming projects and etc. PLEASE SIGN UP and you will get every update straight to the email address that you assign to the link. I write on the board everyday the lesson we are covering and what we will be doing that specific day. This is very important for your child to write the assignment daily and get into a habit early, as I count this as a grade. You (parent) are to make sure that your child is writing the information down ,for you to check. Even though you check the assignments daily, your signature is only REQUIRED a minimum of ONCE a week by the assignment. The upcoming assignment or assignments are written on this blog weekly or bi-weekly. I do not write on the BLOG every day, the purpose of the blog is to inform what we will be covering and the assignment due dates as well. I do write on the board EVERYDAY and the student should do the same in their journal. THE PARENT MUST give their signature or initials by the assignment journal we will be using this year. It is the students job to write the assignments correctly down daily, along with the due dates and other important dates.
We will be forced to do procedures differently this year, than the past years. I’d encourage a positive conversation with your child encouraging them to remain respectful and courtesy in situations that may arise. Our children have been objected to seeing some very bad behavior the past few months over people not agreeing on how to handle certain situations. Also, I’d guess that we have not thought of every situation that could arise. I believe that us talking to our students will help them to better handle certain situations when they pop up. Please encourage them to simply walk away and report to an adult what problem they have encountered. VIP- I love Dr.Peppers!! Smile and let us have a great year…… In my room, we are going to “Make Positive Happen”!!!!
